Multimedia Video Production | AprioMed 2D Medical Animation Trade Show Video

In 2016, AprioMed came to MVP in need of an eye-catching and medically accurate medical animation demonstrating its new Morrison Steerable Needle^™ medical device at a quickly approaching trade show. This was one in a series of devices produced by the company for use in the field of interventional radiology. With the Morrison Steerable Needle, clinicians can now actively guide needle procedures and thus precisely target the exact biological structures to be engaged by the procedure while bypassing other sensitive biological structures. The final animation needed to be both captivating and totally accurate in its portrayal of the medical device's functionality, all while being produced within a tight four-week timeline to ensure availability for the upcoming trade show.

The professional animators at MVP gathered all source materials and began producing the animation immediately. The device and its capabilities were introduced through a combination of photography and on-screen texts. The Morrison Steerable Needle's unique capabilities were demonstrated by showing how its active guidance system can be used to target precise locations in the body; the needle was shown being injected into a translucent blue human body with red highlighted liver and tumor mass used as the injection target. This procedural animation follows a specific sequence of actions to ensure technical accuracy: 1.) superficial injection; 2.) curvature of needle; 3.) insertion into targeted tissues; and 4.) removal of guidance apparatus for use of device in biopsies, injections, and aspirations. The final video was formatted in high resolution suitable for public display on large widescreen monitors, with music integrated to drive further interest. The medical animation garnered an enthusiastic response from the client: "We love it!!"
