Medical Video Production produced this comprehensive online eLearning, diagnostic, and research tool for the Medical University of South Carolina in 2010. The custom-designed and -developed platform includes 73 embedded fluoroscopy videos synchronized with 73 original 3D medical animations, which were created by MVP from scratch. The tool utilizes synchronized media to present various types and degrees of swallowing disorders. Users can synchronize the fluoroscopy with the animations showing them frame by frame or in real time. Users can also select different animated views, or choose to compare a selected fluoroscopy video showing one degree of swallowing impairment, with a 3D medical animation showing a different degree of impairment.
In addition to the learning zone which trains physicians on the MBSImP method of swallowing function and impairment assessment, the eLearning platform also includes a testing area where clinicians demonstrate their retention of the information and become certified. The platform can also be used by clinicians to record real-world data about patients through more than a thousand metrics. This data can then be dynamically queried for a nearly endless combination of various demographic and other information for use as a comprehensive research tool to further advance knowledge in this field. Finally, Medical Video Production hosts the multimedia eLearning platform, including its substantial amount of sensitive medical information, on its own HIPAA-compliant servers, to ensure that all patient data remains strictly private.
